Get ready for GHC/1 Delhi-NCR: 2 September, 2016
by Rema Ananthanarayanan, Technical Staff Member, IBM Research Labs
Welcome back, as the countdown starts to GHC/1 Delhi-NCR on 2 September 2016. The venue for the event is The Taj Palace, New Delhi. The organizers have their task cut out as they brace themselves to make this event a success
And if you are wondering what’s on the menu, here is what participants can hope to get from the one-day event:
• Opportunities to network with peers and industry leaders
• Enhance the participant’s understanding of what it takes to have a successful career
• Learn about cutting edge industry practices
• Gain helpful insights to improve technical and leadership skills
And overall, just have FUN!!!
The theme of the event is ‘Digital’. The target audience is technical women at various stages in their career, students from engineering and B-schools and entrepreneurs. In an event of this scope, scheduled for just one day, it is a challenge to ensure that the needs of all the segments are taken care of, without watering down the contents of everything, or the focus being too narrow. However, the response and feedback from the participants of last year has been very supportive and encouraging.
Readers would know that the much-appreciated and admired Grace Hopper Celebration India (GHCI) conference in Bengaluru has evolved around its format of sessions and demos under different Tracks. The ABI.Delhi-NCR community, just into its second year have been working hard over the past months to organize the GHC/1 Delhi-NCR one day conference that is modeled on GHCI.
The event will offer opportunities to socialize, network and interact with people outside one’s everyday sphere of work. The tangible learnings of new technical and soft skills and not the least, just the break from everyday routine are the visible takeaways for every attendee. Less obvious, but nonetheless present, is the actual experience of the event itself, the sense of community and camaraderie that develops through the day. To use the clichéd expression, the energy and enthusiasm is contagious.
Please do watch this space for updates as we go along. And do remember to tell your friends and colleagues too to attend the GHC/1 Delhi-NCR conference. To register visit: https://community.anitab.org/event/ghc1-delhi-ncr/. So long!
