Intro to Animation: Learn Timing & How to Create Model Sheets

July 22, 2017 · 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

| Free

Turn your Drawings into Animation

Through this drawing intensive course, students acquire an understanding of figurative human emotions and movements, enabling them to create believable animation. Students will create model sheets, describe & refine character attributes, and learn how to endow their characters with human traits & actions. Pencil testing allows the refinement of movement and expressions with final images shot digitally. Particular attention is given to timing and layout, the creation of key drawings, the process of in-betweening, and final cleanup.

Tech Needs: Please bring paper & pencils. Recommendations – Ticonderoga No. 2 soft pencils or Staedtler Lumograph B. Also Eberhard Faber: Col-erase Blue 1276, Scarlet Red 1297 and Green 1278 are colored drawing pencils that allow you to erase. Also, download Adobe Photoshop at http://www.adobe.com/go/tryphotoshop?promoid=GWQTB. (A 30-day trial is available). Otherwise, the software will be available on the Lab computers for those students who need access.
