HopperX1 is a one-day event modeled after the popular Grace Hopper Celebration India (GHCI) conference for women in technology. This immersive event brings together women technologists at all levels from industry, academia, research and startups – to build connects, learn and advance their careers.
Our vibrant community of women in technology are coming together with inspiring keynotes and multiple sessions at HopperX1 Hyderabad under three tracks: Emerging Technologies, Platform Engineering and Leadership. Attendees can look forward to learning and gaining insights into recent technology trends, networking with role models and peers and getting tips on how to be a successful woman in tech.

Bhargavi is a seasoned technology leader with more than 25 years of experience across several fortune 100 companies, currently working as the CIO, Corporate Technology for Bank of New York Mellon Technology. In this role, Bhargavi leads global technology team spread across multiple geographies and is responsible for innovating and delivering value maximizing technology for all of the corporate functions of BNY Mellon. She is known to be deeply technical with a bias for action and has been able to disrupt the organization in a positive way. Previous to this role, she was working as the Head of Technology American Express India where she was responsible for strategy formulation, delivery, innovation and people leadership. She is often recognized for her bold ideas, problem solving, realistic planning and strong business acumen for driving results. Prior to American Express, she has worked in companies like Texas Instruments, MCI/ Worldcom, Microsoft and Amazon. She has a strong focus on encouraging women in technology and launched “digigirlz” while at Microsoft and was a part of the Amazon Campus Mentoring Series for women in engineering. Bhargavi holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University and is pursuing her PhD in Computer Science.

Her research interest is in the area of skilling with a specific focus on digital literacy and support ecosystem required to sustain and scalewomen-led micro and small enterprises. Reema has been instrumental in launching many innovative programs like the CIO Academy, Executive Eminence and Certificate in Business Analytics programs. Prior to joining ISB, Reema worked for EMC Corporation in Massachusetts as Senior Director and led many company‐wide strategic initiatives. She has over 13 years of experience working in the IT related field, holds a patent in multi-processor communication and was recognized as the “Top 10 women to watch” in Massachusetts, for her work in Science and Technology. Shubha has 18 years of progressive experience in varied global roles. She has rich leadership experience in Software Delivery, Program Management, Capability Building and Risk & Change Management. Shubha is part of the leadership team engaged in driving the Inclusion and Diversity agenda for Accenture in India. She worked for 13 years in Consumer and Community Banking in India and the US, in delivering Enterprise scale technology solutions for the Retail Consumers. She was pivotal in setting up the Hyderabad Hub for JPMC. She has a proven track record of establishing large software engineering organizations and building a strong operating model for global teams. Shireesha is passionate about work place Diversity & Inclusion. She leads the Diversity Forum for Hyderabad, an active member of WOTM (Women on the Move) and led key corporate initiatives which impacted many in a positive way. She has been closely involved with the Diversity initiatives in Infosys Hyderabad in the past and manages a Women in Technology Initiative within Infosys.

Get hands-on experience in this novel workshop. This working session consists of a series of hands-on labs where we’ll spend time showing how we can write your own web APIs. We’ll also cover best practices on API-led connectivity. This 90 min event will get you on the path to designing, developing and deploying APIs. At the end of this session, you will be educated in API technology, as well as in a methodology for successfully launching your own. In this API workshop, participants will:
– Learn the basics of client-server architecture
– Benefits of Using APIs
– Principles of good API design
– Use the RESTful API Modeling Language to design new RESTful APIs
– Programming experience (JS experience would be a plus)
– Laptop (Mac/Ubuntu/Win)
– Wi-Fi connection
