AnitaB Silicon Valley Presents: A Fireside Chat with Emily Chang

July 13, 2018 · 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm

Abstract:

If you ask noted journalist Emily Chang, Silicon Valley’s “bro” problem is everyone’s problem. For women in tech, Silicon Valley is not a fantasyland of unicorns, virtual reality rainbows, and 3D-printed lollipops, where millions of dollars grow on trees. It’s a “Brotopia,” where men hold all the cards and make all the rules. Vastly outnumbered, women face toxic workplaces rife with discrimination and sexual harassment, where investors take meetings in hot tubs and network at raucous parties.

Please join us for a fireside chat with Emily Chang and Jennifer Haroon from Nauto.

We will be giving away 150 copies of Emily’s latest book Brotopia (first come first serve basis) in the event.

The event is planned on Friday, July 13th, at Playground headquarters.

Registration and networking begins at 6:00 p.m. The program will kick-off at 6:30 p.m. and will conclude by 8:30. Food and drinks will be provided. Here is the detailed Agenda:

6:00 – 6:30 -> Registration and Networking

6:25 – 7:30 -> Firseside Chat with Emily and Jennifer

7:30 – 8:00 -> Q/A with the audience

8:00 – 8:30 -> Networking
