There are three conference tracks for Hopper x 1 Seattle, including Community, Education, and Career.
|Many companies across Puget Sound are doing inspiring work to improve their culture to be more inclusive of women in technology. How do we build a strong community, make connections, and share best practices to come together as a group and put Seattle on the map as an innovative leader for women in technology? We have a great collection of high tech companies here and how do we connect and build bridges to move the Needle in Seattle?||As we all know, technology moves quickly. Staying up to date with your technical skills requires an ongoing investment. C programming moves to C++ to C# to Dotnet, Java, JSON, or Ruby on Rails to R and Hadoop. The tech world changes quickly and it’s critical to track the latest trends to stay current in your skill set. This track is designed to bring together the leading technologists to share the latest and go deep into the technical details and offer tutorials to get hands on with the latest technical trends.||How can one build a long-term career in technology? The progression of work and family, life decisions, balance, departure and re-entry while trying to stay technical – all present significant and unique challenges for women in technical positions – and how can we share best practices and learned experience to help guide folks through career phases – and guide companies to improve the employee experience, assist with re-entry training, part-time, job share, and other creative options to help support women in technical roles through challenging life decisions.|
