Angela Benton — Tech Entrepreneur and Businesswoman; Founder of NewME

Angela Benton — cancer survivor, entrepreneur, businesswoman, and tech industry veteran — is the pioneer behind BlackWeb 2.0 and NewME accelerator. BlackWeb 2.0 launched in 2007 and was a multimedia platform for African Americans interested in Technology.

NewMe is the first accelerator created especially for minorities. Since its inception in 2011, NewME has helped hundreds of entrepreneurs craft compelling stories for their startups and raise $43MM from investors. In January of 2019, NewMe was acquired by LightHouse, the parent company of the Hillman accelerator program.
