Celebrating Black History Month: Aisha Bowe

Aisha Bowe, Founder of STEMBoard

The AnitaB.org Community is highlighting inspiring Black women in tech. We honor these women for doing amazing things in tech and in the Black community!

Aisha Bowe — Aerospace Engineer, Entrepreneur, and Founder/CEO of STEMBoard

In a matter of a few years, Aisha Bowe went from a struggling community college student to a top performing engineer at NASA. It is a journey she doesn’t take lightly and partially attributes to shedding a false narrative that she was poor, Black, and under-educated. As Aisha began to see herself differently, the sky was the limit for this trailblazer.

After several years in her dream job at NASA, Aisha ventured out and established her own company, STEMBoard. Started in 2013, the company has allowed Aisha to align her passion for engineering, entrepreneurship, and investing in underserved communities. With clients in both the public and private sector, the multi-million dollar company specializes in using big data and agile technology to create smart systems and software solutions.

STEMBoard’s Education Directorate has a strong presence throughout the U.S. and Bahamas and is committed to closing the achievement gap in STEM for underrepresented youth.
